FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Everything You Need to Know
Discover answers to common questions about our gemstones, sourcing, quality, orders, and delivery.
A rough gemstone is a natural, uncut, and unpolished crystal or mineral as it comes from the earth. It’s the raw material used by lapidaries and jewelry makers to create custom faceted gems, cabochons, or one‑of‑a‑kind designs.
All our rough stones are priced with complete transparency. We list a
price per 100 carats — that’s the rate for 100 carats of that specific stone. The total price you pay depends on the exact weight of the piece you choose. This way you always know you’re paying a fair, weight‑based price.
We include a scale reference photo for every stone, showing it next to a carat sizer. The listed carat weight also gives you a precise size indication, and you can always reach out for exact measurements.
Absolutely. Al offers free personal video calls where he’ll show you the exact rough gemstone in real time, answer your questions, and help you pick the right piece. Simply use the “Book a Video Call” button on our site.
You have 14 days from delivery (7 days for domestic orders) to inspect your purchase. If you’re not satisfied, return the unaltered stone in its original packaging for a full refund minus shipping costs. Some high‑value items include a tamper‑proof security seal — if that seal is broken, the item is non‑refundable. Stones that have been cut, polished, treated, or otherwise altered cannot be returned.
Yes, we ship worldwide. You’ll find our full shipping options and rates on our Shipping Policy page. Please note that international buyers are responsible for any customs fees or import duties.
Every order is carefully packed to ensure your rough gemstone arrives safely. We use sturdy boxes, protective wrapping, and, for certain items, a tamper‑proof security seal for your peace of mind.
We sell only natural, untreated rough gemstones unless explicitly stated otherwise. We believe in full transparency — if a stone has undergone any known treatment (extremely rare in our collection), it will be clearly disclosed.
Look for pieces with good clarity, even color, and a shape that suits your design. Our backlit images help you judge internal features, and we note any inclusions or fractures. If you’re unsure, Al is happy to guide you based on your project — just send a message or book a video call.
We make every effort to photograph our stones accurately in natural daylight. However, screens vary, and the way light hits a rough crystal can make it appear slightly different. That’s why we provide multiple views. If you’re still not satisfied, our hassle‑free return policy has you covered.
We often have multiple pieces of the same gem type in various sizes. If you’re looking for something particular, reach out to us with your preferences and we’ll let you know what’s available or notify you when new stock arrives.
We update our collection regularly as we source new rough material. Follow us on social media or join our newsletter to be the first to know about fresh arrivals.
