Authenticity Guaranteed

Rough amethyst should be cleaned gently and protected from conditions that may damage its crystal structure or color. For routine cleaning, lukewarm soapy water and a soft toothbrush are suitable, while stubborn iron-oxide stains may require a specialized rust-removing solution used carefully and for a limited time. Strong chemicals, ultrasonic cleaners, and steam should be avoided, especially for fractured or heavily included specimens. Prolonged exposure to intense sunlight can gradually fade amethyst’s purple color, while sudden temperature changes may cause fractures. For storage, keep each specimen wrapped or separated in a soft-lined container to prevent scratches, particularly from harder gemstones such as topaz, corundum, or diamond.

Faceting & Design Recommendations:

Rough amethyst should be carefully examined for violet color intensity, zoning, transparency, inclusions, fractures, and crystal orientation before cutting, with the stone oriented to maximize its richest face-up purple color and cutting yield; brilliant, mixed, oval, cushion, round, pear, and emerald designs are suitable, while deeper pavilion designs can improve light return and reduce windowing. The table may be oriented perpendicular to the c-axis when appropriate to concentrate color, while darker color zones can be positioned strategically for stronger saturation. Because amethyst has a Mohs hardness of 7, conchoidal fracture, and possible twinning or internal stress, use fine, worn laps, strong water flow, and light, controlled pressure to prevent chipping and thermal damage. Avoid excessive heat, sudden temperature changes, direct flame, and aggressive cutting, as high temperatures and prolonged sunlight can permanently fade or alter its purple color.

Orders are carefully packed and dispatched within 1–3 business days. Domestic delivery typically arrives in 3–7 business days, while international shipping takes 7–21 business days depending on destination and customs. Every parcel is insured and fully tracked. If you're not completely satisfied, return unused stones in their original packaging within 15 days of delivery for a full refund or exchange — simply reach out to our team to start the process.

OUR promise

Handpicked for Quality

Every parcel we offer begins at the source. We work directly with trusted miners and lapidaries across Afghanistan, Myanmar, and beyond inspecting each lot of rough by hand under both daylight and UV to confirm color, clarity, and authentic character before it ever reaches your bench.

No treatments, no shortcuts, no filler. What you see in our listings is exactly what arrives at your door genuine natural material selected for its response, transparency, and cutting potential, packed and weighed with the same care a maker would expect.

It's a standard built for independent creators and collectors who value provenance as much as beauty the foundation of everything we sell.

Every parcel feels handpicked. The color response under UV was stunning, and knowing the material is genuinely untreated makes all the difference to my work.

As a collector, provenance matters to me most. CGB's honesty and consistent grading have made them my go-to for rare, authentic gemstone rough.
